On my honor, I swear to do good, help other people and take care of myself so that I can do the first two things.

Plus, I will laugh, sing loud in the car, cry when needed, lift a car off you (if you are under one) slay zombies, or any other obstacle in your way.  I love you.

I think you know who you are.

School, sure, but people keep having babies

I made flash cards for school.  Massage school flash cards. Here are the feet.  No, really it's for Anatomy class, not directions on how to know your elbow from your nether regions.

I am not a flash card person, but I figured, well, what the hell.  Now, can I rub your feet?  I know where they are.

Knitting?  Hells YES!  I make time for knitting.  My sanity is at stake, I need the knit time.

October is the season of beautiful babies.  The Pigs would like you to know that they have "cousins all over the place."  They got a new one out west just this Thursday.  Congrats to baby Carver!  Welcome to the World!  We hope you have a great trip.

With the arrival of a new cousin, the world will soon also be blessed with a new baby sweater.  First comes love, then a baby, then a baby in a wonky hand knit baby sweater.  It's all about love though.

I'm going to make like 3-5 Little Linear Baby sweaters by Kate Jackson Knits. Please check this cutie design out at Deep South Knits.

Do the Right Thing-Spike Lee isn't wrong

Something amazing is going to happen.  Something will be started, worked on and finished.  Why??  Because I want it to.  Because there is a need.  Because I saw there was a need.

I will make it happen.  I have set my mind on it, and it will be accomplished.  I will set the ball rolling, and I will make people's lives better.  Even if it's 5 at a time, or only 1 at a time, I CAN, I WILL make a difference.

Do you feel like this?  Do you have ideas and want to help?  Do you see a hatless kid, or someone without a coat, or a lunch?  HELP.

See litter on the ground.  Pick it the hell up.  The change really does start with you.  Yes, Shannon, I do feel shitty about not helping out with the last Zombie Prom Date Knitters of SW MI adopt a highway pick up.  To return the favor, I picked up trash at work.  It's not the same, but it did make a difference, a small difference.

Our adopt a highway project is a labor of love.  Like a serious labor.  Our section is on I94 mile maker 84-86, east and west bound.  Dude, that's like 4 miles.

I skipped out, these 2 carried my weight. Yes, I feel like an ass.

NO, it's 4 grueling miles of litter, piss in bottles, arizona tea cans, possible crime scenes, and meth waste.

If Shannon (Spinsanity) wants to keep up our 4 miles, I am in.  No backing out, no excuses.  It's the right thing to do.

Why am I on my soap box?  Because I have been slacking.  I need to do more.  There are needs that I see and I can help.  I should help.

Are you in?  Do you see something you can do, something you should do?

DO IT. Don't wait.  You'll feel the relief of a job well done.  You'll feel better, you'll feel lightness, and you'll want to do more.

The Zombie Prom Date Knitters recently collected hand knit/crochet hats for The Haven of Rest in Battle Creek.  We have yet to deliver.  This will be done by Oct 22.

I made hats for the Kalamazoo Deacons Conference.  These need to be given to Loongirl for delivery by Oct 22.

Now, what is the need, where is the need?  Possibly at Lincoln Elementary.  I just contacted them.  I will knit, buy supplies, help with reading or whatever.  I want to give back to an area that has given me a job-because I can, and I should.

School days and Knit Knights, Nights

Things are finally getting organized, in a schedule, and written down.  I mean I have to schedule massage school, drug testing, zombie slaying and knitting, or hell, my homeostasis will be shot to hell.

Remember when I used to have a planner?  Uh, and then remember when I lost it?

Yes, without the planner, we won't have tasty meals like Zombie Parts Meatloaf!

Well, tell me what you do with the spare parts.  We can't have a bon fire every night.

Desperate Measures-Not the Movie

If we are friends on twitter, facebook, or OMG! real life, you probably are sick of hearing that  "My awesome house in a beautiful Vicksburg neighborhood with low, Schoolcraft Township taxes!" is for sale.

*

This weekend we are having an Open House (1230-230 if you are in the market for a *)

In a desperate attempt for something different, which would be house selling rather than house for saling...I have called on Saint Joseph for help.

O! Plastic Catholic Saint, made in China, I call on you for help in selling my house!

[caption id="attachment_3963" align="aligncenter" width="112" caption="Wine glass used strictly for size comparison"][/caption]

No, really, I am quite attached to Joesph.  I slept with him under my pillow last night.  This morning, I sang him a song.  The Ogre said it was good up until the point where I praised his carpentry skills by calling him the Carpenter to the Gods.  In my defense, it flowed better in the song, and we've been reading a lot of Percy Jackson lately.

Now, to finish the deed, I was required to burrow St Joe, and ask him for help.  I believe the asking was implied in the song.  I went out to get the trusty zombie slaying shovel.

It seemed a bit over kill.  I chose something a little more appropriate.

Good luck little guy!

Help us sell our house.

When it sells...I will dig you up and keep you in a place of honor on the mantel,

right next to Buddha.

If I start yelling "DOES NOT COMPUTE" and start swinging my arms,  it's due to cognitive dissonance.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday of each week, I will be doing saliva based drug testing.  It's a fast paced lab environment!  Bio-hazards! Chemicals!  Lab coats and spit!!

Tuesday and Thursday, I will be learning the art of massage.  Meditation, Birkenstocks, and Swedish Massage.  After school, I often feel all Zen-ed out.  Man.  Cool.

So, if I seem a little more weirdy than normal, I now at least have an excuse.

Vampires, we slay them too...

My dear sweet Ogre.  He is always thinking of me.  While taking a break from slaying zombies, he picked up a gift...

Sure, sure, we don't do much vampire slaying.  Starting with Lestat,  (actually that Fiend, Nosferatu) vampires have become all the lovey dovey death and snuggy rage.  I mean really, do you want a blood sucking fiend sucking on you?  Many, many chicks are totally into that.  Plus, they are undead, but not like zombie brain dead undead, so we usually let them be.

So are vamps ok?  Depends on where you stand.  But for me...live and let undead live.

Fiber Arts Friday!

The other day I showed the Hurricane Hat I had made.  Well, I lied.  I've actually turned out 5 hats.

Some of them are prettier than others, but a warm hat makes a warm noggin!

This batch is going to be given to my kind hearted friend, Loongirl.  She's going to take them to the Kalamazoo Deacons Conference to share with people in need.

Kidneys, hearts, lungs, and noggins, you need help with any of those, we'll make a cozy for it.  We of the Zombie Prom Date Knitters are always trying to do a good turn.  Wait, that's the boy scouts.  Ok, us too.

This was a part of Fiber Arts Friday!  Check out what other people are doing over at our Fiber Arts Friday Host's Blog  Wonder Why Alpaca Farm!!  Hey!  Add your blog to the fun!!
